XP to be the DoS tool of choice

Steve Gibson's Denial of Service with Windows XP page (in progress) tells the whole story of why WinXP will offer script kiddies tools they never dreamed of.

An interesting read, and fits nicely with my WinXP world domination thread I seem to have going today...

Until now the Windows implementation of sockets was incomplete, lacking raw socket support. This made it more difficult to issue packets with spoofed source address under Windows using the default TCP/IP stack. *NIX machines have had this ability all along. This doesn't really represent a new threat as I see it, but definitely will make easier access to destructive tools for script kiddies.
